Proposed Minimum Wage Increase Sent to Governor

Yesterday, the Oregon house sent a bill to Governor Kate Brown that proposes to raise the minimum wage in Oregon to $14.75/hr. by 2022. The bill raises wages starting in July 2016 and applies different rates to urban and rural areas.  In Portland (and other urban areas) minimum wage is planned to increase to $9.75/hr. starting in July 2016 and to $9.50/hr. in smaller rural areas.  The Governor has 5 days to sign the bill.  We will keep you posted.
